Too many Sri lankans with way too much egos will bound to fail.
Murali is the best bowler produced by sri lanka no doubt, but what about his coaching credentials, his motivational skills? they are sub-par. Murali was used to get the in depth knowledge of sri lankan conditions (by australia and Vaas for the same by NZ) and not given extension when those countries played on pacey pitches. Our thinking has to be the same, we know how the ball turn and bounce on out pitches and we need coaches who can give us the boost to play on bouncy pacey pitches.

Gura, Hathurusighe, Thilan Samaraweera, Mahela are good candidates to hold jobs but we need foreign exposures. All those sri lankans are good candidates because they have worked at some capacity post playing days in western countries. we need coaches who has in depth knowledge of how cricket is played in pacey wicket countries.
Alan Donald or Shaun Pollock should be the fast bowling coach for at least 2-3 year period. You got to keep the one who will not leave us in mid contract and can commit to the full contract.

Mahela and Sangakkara have played in bouncy pacey pitches and flat pitches so there is no issue in the coaching area in different pitches both players have played in England and scored heavily and Mahela has coached the Mumbai Indians and the main reason why there are so many sri lankans is because of the communication problem with our players and foreign coaches even if they do have a translator they can`t convey all the details the coach says to the player.
It what Allan Donald had problems with in his Short Term coaching with the Sri lanka team
Also its the Foreign Coaches that Leave Like Graham Ford and Steve Mount not Sri Lanka Coaches
Sri lanka coaches don`t leave because they want to give back something to their country for all the Glory they received
