Who cares this guy's advice. what he has done to srilankan cricket after his retirement. this guy and his family became rich because of srilankan cricket but what he did to srilankan cricket after his retirement? nothing, but he tried to pass the hidden tactics of our own cricketers during the last Aussie tour to SRILANKA. what happened to him and his hypocritical attitude, it became a futile attempt and this man lost his reputation. this is called "KARMA" this man tired to pooh in the same plate he used to eat his meals but ALL MIGHTY GOD kicked him and his arrogant attitude to go against his own team and the country who provided the shelter to him to become a legend in the world cricket.SO now it is too late for him to advice srilankan cricket. we don't need ur help or advice. we have very talanted young cricketer who are far and far better than you to carry the srilankan FLAG in the word cricket field
Good for SL to practice in the new conditions
Great Win for SL, i like their attitude during the first 6 overs. I feared that when Tharanga went out they would take things slow, but they played as if nothing happened. Excellent Innings from Gunaratne, filling up the role of Mathews very well if not better.
It's nice to see the passion in the SL camp, especially Malinga still bossing around like the captain (not negative.)
I think Malinda Pushpakumara should join the test side when we play Bangladesh. Aponso is still young, no need to push him into the international team so soon.
To all who were supporting Tharanga as the best option well we saw his contribution today. It's 40 over runs with his brilliant best in fielding. Dropping a regular catch of Travis Head even an under 14 player would catch with his eyes closed. And to top it off zero with his bat. People need to look at things at perspective. Its not a hidden secret Tharanga is less than an average fielder who is also a very inconsistent player we ever had. Just scoring a hundred against a depleted South African bowling side is not something to crow about. Making him as a captain is the biggest blunder. I hope for the sake of our side he is moved on after this tour is the best thing.
What I mentioned about Tharangas ability as a fielder, he just proved it dropping a sitter. He can't field or catch or throw. As they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I rest my case.
If you remove Tharanga and Sacith Pathirana with Kusal Perera and Lahiru Milantha or Sandun Weerakody will make this side formidable. Of course if Angelo and Dhanuska Gunatilke recover from injury they should be in the side. There are too many players who can bowl we don't need Sacith Pathirana. Because he like Tharanga fielding is an Achilles heel. We can't afford to have players who can't field or catch.
Anonymous #19, Well said. Gong adi for Wal adi. But for people like you who constantly promotes racial divisions and slur against other races? Pol Adi perhaps?
MDK Julius Caesar, When we have you and your aliases constantly coming up with contrived stats to promote a player who has past his best is a joke itself. I must commend you because you are unashamedly keep posting stuff under various names thinking we all are fools? The most important fact is you are the only group promoting a single player. I am convinced either you are the man itself or paid by him to post this kind of stats promoting him. Have you ever heard the saying "Good product sells itself".
If you think Tharanga is so great let his bat do the talking. Scoring a century after more than 20 innings is not a mark of a great player. I want you to remember one thing we want our team to succeed and take us back to our glory days gain. Unfortunately players like upul weighs our team down being consistently being inconsistent thus depriving a youngster.
