Before preaching others why don't you come up with any solid stats or proof to prove your tilted criticism highly generalized picking a couple of bad occasions selectively aiming at one guy ? How do u forget the rest of all who dropped catches regularly more than UT's couple of drops? At least he had taken a few sensational catches to amend his mishaps as seen in the recent footage and in our memory such as 4 extraordinary catches taken in 3rd test vs India in jun 2015 in the few limited opportunities given to him ... what about the rest?
This relentless UT bashing seems reserved for a bunch of a-- holes like you surfing in these forums.

Losing to a minnow is not a big deal unless you are struggling to beat the others! For example SL has previously lost to Kenya and others but it wasn't a big deal as it was an isolated loss. The issue now is very different as it raises the question can we actually beat the minnows consistently given the struggles of late.

The other more real issue is SL's blue print where the best case scenario is sub-300 score. Put it another way - even if our plan works 100% we will end up with may be 300 which is no longer a winning total and certainly not with our attack. There could be no better example of this than Scotland running past 287 without breaking a sweat. The way forward is aggression in the top order (like the rest of the world) and at little as possible "old fashioned" one day players in the top 6. This means Chandi and Tharanga cannot occupy two spots in the top 4. We could please one to hold the innings but certainly not both but that is our plan A!

Our bowling is not strong so no matter what we do defending 300 will be a challenge so plan A has to be around setting 300++ scores and you are only ever going to achieve that with aggressive batters - much like England have changed their game plan in recent times. They no longer play Bell and Trott like players, instead they play guys like Roy and Hales and Bairstow and Buttler. We may not have players of this caliber but our intention should be to head that way. For example, an top 3 of Kusal Perera, Dickwella and Dilshan Munaweera would show that intention. It may no come off now but it's a plan in the right direction.

Sri lanka just hit a new low in cricket. There's nothing that can be done to improve the bowling. Only thing we can do is keep changing players every match.
For the next match:
Upul Tharanga
Niroshan Dickwella
Kusal Perera
Dinesh Chandimal
Asela Gunaratne
Angelo Mathews
Thisara Perera
Nuwan Kulasekera
Suranga Lakmal
Lakshan Sandakan
Lasith Malinga ( if he returns)

I dont expect SL to win any of its matches in the Champions trophy, but i just want them to put on a fight. This warmup match was too easy for Scotland, they had 7 overs left aswell!

I cannot believe Sri Lanka lost to Scotland. This is probably the most embarrassing defeat for Sri Lanka. We had a decent amount of runs on the board to put pressure back. But this match has shown us the quality of our bowling attack and it is horrendous. Im not quite sure what changes we need for our bowling. Our bowlers are simply not wicket takers. Lakmal has good accuracy but cannot take wickets in the shorter format. We obviously need Malinga for the Champions trophy but even he has struggled to find wickets in the IPL. At the moment the batting is OK with a few changes for the next match. But no changes can improve SL's bowling attack.

What about the bowling? They can't defend 287 against Scotland. Its a shame.

This champions trophy will be very vital for the Sri Lanka when we play associate nation cups in the coming years. There's a very high possibility that this is our last ICC event.

Time and time again I have to tell this.
Chandimal is a selfish ****** who never care about Sri Lanka cricket. he is adding runs to his name because he knows if he not scoring, definitely he will be out of the side. So he is playing real selfish cricket. ** ** * ***** *****

Kusal medis don't have the experience.

So my playing 11 definitely would be

1. Kusal perera
2. Dickwella
3. Tharanga
4. Asela
5. Kapugedera
6. Mathews
7. Prasanna
8. Thisara
10. Pradeep
11. Malinga

We need powerful start in kusal and dickwella are good to that. why we need these two because initially bowler balling good length. so never give the chance to ball good length all the time.we need to attack them at the beginning. Then settle down.

We need a player at 1 down position, who can play intelligent cricket with try to bat long innings. THARANGA will be the option to that place who has soo many experiences under his belt. same like sanga.

Then asela 2ND down asela is the man to go. Then kapugedera. Kapugedea must be 2ND down.

Don't give a chance to mathews because initially he struggles to get going.

Prasanna must be in the squad.

We have to choose sadakan or pradeep to play 11. above I mentioned others are OK.

The Batting performance was decent against Scotland 1st ODI but the Bowling performance was Poor espically poor performance by Asela Gunarathne going for 8 runs an over,Thisara Perera going for 7 runs an over,Nuwan Pradeep going for 6.5 runs an over
