A team of schoolboy cricketers from Australia were no match for the Under-15 team of St. Peter’s College who outplayed them by a whopping 296 runs in a match at Bambalapitiya on Thursday.

The Peterites taking first lease of the pitch made a rousing 402 for 7 in 48 overs and effortlessly bundled out the Australians known as the Sydney Scorchers for a mere 106 runs.

Peterite skipper Julian de Zilva made an imposing 100 with 11 fours and three sixes completely outplaying the tourists on their first taste of Sri Lankan soil.

The Peterites needed just five overs to post the first 50 runs.

St. Peter’s U-15 402 for 7 in 48 overs (Shasheen Fernando 33, Jason Buultjens 59, Dushan Hemantha 47, Julian de Zilva 100 rtd, Ranitha Liyanaarachchie 28, Ranga Suraweera 45, Sahan Wedasinghe 19, M. Paramalingham 3 for 73)
