This wicket will be a low

This wicket will be a low scoring one. I just hope we put them in to bat first or if we get bowled out for low it will not only be a huge embarrassment but Canada can also chase it down if they bat out 50 overs like a Test match.

Sri Lanka dont even have a chance to practise in Hambantota. The playing field is even and home advantage lost. Canada must be over the moon.

Canada's Cricketers

I think that Canada's main weakness is their batting. They were skittled out for 105 against Afghanistan today. Over the years their best batsman has been John Davison, who in 2003 smashed 100 against the West Indies in only 67 deliveries, which was then the fastest every century at the World Cup. But at the age of 40 his best playing days are behind him. Canada's captain Ashish Bagai averages just under 40 in One Day Internationals and is arguably their best player. Canada did do well in the recent Twenty20 Tournament, where they defeated the Hampshire Royals and I suspect their batsmen had the right skills for the shorter format. History has shown that in the 50 over game they have struggled to score over 200. This is probably why the odds of them winning the tournament are 2000-1. I have put a fiver (British pounds) on this, so go Canada!

Your welcome Hilal. There's plenty on Canada's cricket history on my webpage: www.historyofcanadiancricket.pbworks.com
There's also some links to recent media articles there on Canadian cricket.

Good luck to Sri Lanka in the World Cup (just not against Canada!)
