I have mentioned many times before that Dickella is a loose cannon. As per his name per se he plays like a real Dick. When Dickwella realises that playing like a man possessed and trying to hit everything out of the park and not playing each ball on its merit is not going to get him anywhere or his team. Its very unfortunate we keep losing players who perform gets injured (Angelo Mathews, Asela Gunaratne, Dhammika Prasad, Nuwan Pradeep, Kusal Perera) and the players who are just mere passengers like Thisara Perera, Upul Tharanga get picked every time. I think its the sad reality when non performing players get the nod over players who could be in the side is the reason we keep coming up short. Lahiru Milantha, Dasun Shanaka, Dilshan Munaweera,Sadeera Samarawickrama, Anuk Fernando are just few examples I can think of. I am not suggesting by including the players I have mentioned means we are going to win. My point is Tharanga and Thisara are been given more chances than they deserve and there is a limit to everything regardless if they have past glory days.

When you see players like Vandersay, Lahiru Gamage and Akila Dhanajaya who all made decent contribution you just wonder why on earth these players who made their debut long time ago were kept in isolation this long? Vandersay was the standout among the three who often beat the bat and looked like taking wicket.

When are we going to learn? When our selectors are going to realise infusing young talent rather than sticking to dead wood is the only way forward and keeping passengers who don't perform is going to give us more misery?
