Hope Gavaskar will see this article. During the commentaries, he ranted how unacceptable the behavior of our fans but, never mentioned what happened during 96 WC semi-final between SL and IND. As we all remember, when India collapsed like a house of cards, Indian fans threw stuff on to the field and even burned a section of the stadium. The situation got so bad, that the match ref, Clive Lloyd, awarded the match to us.

I was disappointed that our commentators, Abeysingha and Arnold kept quite while Gavaskar kept ranting. It would have been great if one them reminded Gavaskar that the Indian fans did worse in 1996. I don not think they, especially Abeysingha, have the BALLS to interupt Gavaskar. May be they were more interested in keeping their commentator jobs.
