'Poor catching, batting cost us, not complacency' - Herath

"I really thought that we could defend it, because we have played games with India and Pakistan and defended low scores," Herath said. "We also had three spinners. When we got two early wickets, I felt the same way, but after lunch they were in an attacking mood and scored some quick runs.

So nothing new here - poor batting and catching...how long has this been going on? I have forgotten actually. Anyone for a new coach or is that no longer an option?

the batting for SL is always 50/50. Its either very good or very bad, however im sure they batting can be improved soon. Unfortunately the fielding continued to be poor. Im not sure whether the players are bad at fielding or that their mentality was bad. At first i thought its just their mentality but when you are defending such a low total surely everyone wants to field at their best. The only good fielder i thought today was Dimuth Karunaratne. I also felt that the umpiring was quite poor this match especially Kusal Mendis's wicket which is very unfortunate because things turned upside down after he left. Im sure if the decision was looked into better kusal mendis would have stayed on and i wouldnt be surprised if SL got a good lead and Bangladesh failed to chase it.
Anyways congratulations to the BD team, they outplayed with the bat in the first innings. Im sure SL will bounce back strongly come the ODIs ( it has been a long time since they won an ODI though).
