SLC elections may be postponed after inquiry on candidate

Sri Lanka Cricket's elections may be postponed by as many as 17 days, the sports ministry said, after a complication with one of the nominees' applications resulted in a government inquiry to assess whether he can lawfully contest the election..

Is Nishantha Ranatunga still the CEO of CSN? If he is, isn't that a violation of the sports law?

According to the article above, "The law states that sports administrators contesting an election cannot be involved in either betting, media, or sports goods industries."

@ Hilal - agreed and good point, someone should challenge this point.

Why does SLC have to go through this stupidity all over again. You dont need an inquiry to work out if a thief is qualified to be a cop. This is going down SLC favorite path - "interim"!! Please wake up and get on with nuturing the game.

I dont mind interim if it removes TS and NR.
