Time to strike and the players need their salaries, these conditions SLC have set them in the new contracts have pushed them far too much towards the edge.justice should prevail, SLC should be ashamed.

Stage is set now for MR to come in and save the day. What a hero!

Great stuff by the lads. I thought with the appointing of two new young captains with lengthy careers ahead of them, the players would have just folded and accepted SLCs demands. I just hope that they do not back down now, as this will definitely blow up in the faces of the people who should have been blown up a long time ago.

The ICC will support the players on this one and if not resolved, plus Sumathipala being elected, the suspension of the Sri Lankan team by the ICC could well be the much needed rocket up the bums of not just the administrators, but our country's rulers who obviously need reminding that this is neither their family business nor their private property.

This is Nishantha working his magic on the glib! I wonder what he constitutes as income for SLC which the players outrageously grab 79% of? And I wonder why the reporter did not ask the question? Glib springs to mind!

Anyway, I bet that the SLC income NR speaks of does not include the income generated through TV which was approx USD 16 million per year since 2009. This is SLCs largest income generator by far, which ofcourse is generated entirely by the players.

So Nishantha should be telling us what he and his cronies did with the TV monies without spreading untruths on the makeup of SLC income and how much of it goes to the players. Disgusting.

Hilal - this is a joke, as much a disaster it is :)
Dias - too funny.....MR does keep all that he saves for his family's benefit careful what you wish for :) ....

I am going to bet Rs. 100 that Sana boy will play in the first test!! He is going to say that "no one is available so I have to play" hehehehe....dont count out Ramith Rambukkawella playing also....We might also see Namal...If the sports minister had played any form of cricket, he too might argue for a place....lovely!! finally, TEST Cricket will be fun to watch guys!!!!

If Bob Simpson played at 42,when Aussies went to SA ,Sanath too can do it.Ramith will be there, and Namal due to his Rugger will be a good fielder.Sajith played junior cricket for Royal. Mahindananda has played only marbles so he can be 12th man .The rest can be made up from Mataara and Hambantota schools.

FINALLY! Its about time, well done to all the players who refuse to sign the contracts. They been using the team like prostitutes make money for themselves. Don't fold guys and don't play in the Bangladesh tour, if SL lose to Bangladesh it won't be the worst that can happen for SL Cricket.
