Gavaskar says Ranji side can defeat Sri Lanka

"To be frank, you can't call this a Test match. The Indian team hasn't been tested at all. A Ranji team in the elite status can beat this Sri Lankan side," said the batting great in the post-match discussion on Sony Liv.

I don't worry too much about Sri Lanka loosing with out a fight in Test matches. I feel that most of our batsmen, like Dickwella, are bitten by the "Shorter Format Bug". I think that they are not interested to play the 5-day format. In addition to playing under very humid energy-sapping conditions for 5 days, they may feel it is boring too. They, it seems, prefer to play global T-20 tournaments with more "Thrills" and more "$Bills". I don't blame them.

I believe that our batsmen use the Sri Lankan matches to showcase their talent to the world in order to get T-20 contracts. Therefore, I am sure our batsmen will put up a much better performance during the upcoming shorter version matches against India.

Test Cricket in Sri Lanka is dying a slow death.

I knew it and was waiting for this and by no surprise it has come out. But I rate Sunil a better person and a man who deserves respect, so to hear something like this is so hard to comprehend. Having said he is within his rights to say what he thought. Because that's how we are playing.

But what I can't tolerate is trolls like Chopra and snipers like Bogle, sanjay manjrekar, sivaramakrishnan who all are so conniving and devious in sticking it into opposing teams every opportunity they get, especially to non white teams.

If I was the Asanka Gurusinghe instead of being a stand over man I will print the article and put it up in our dressing room. I want every player and staff to see it. If this can't motivate our guys nothing will.
