Upul whom are you trying to kid? You got the captaincy by default. Same as Steve Bradbury winning the gold medal in Olympics when others took the tumble.

It's so shameful that selection committee decided to instill upul as a captain when he couldn't be even guaranteed a spot in the the side. It says something about our selection panels. Its no secret upul is the worst fielder Srilanka ever produced. I would like to know how he went in Fitness test which has been set by SLC.
Furthermore upul very smartly decided to skip the test series so he won't be made to look like a fool against a formidable Pakistan bowling.

Yes we won the test series fair and square and all credit should go to the players and the coaches. But when it comes to one day format Pakistan is a very different side. You just need to ask the cocky Indians how they rolled them in champions trophy.

We will be waiting and watching you upul. I am sure you will not disappoint us with your brilliant fielding and of course looking for that off stump which you have problems locating!
Good luck because you need it so bad.

For those who needed thier mind freshened up on upuls dream run in last five test innings:

5(5) & 7(31) - v India
0(6) & 2(9) - v India
64(93) & 10(10) - v India
71(107) & 27(69) - v Zimbabwe
11(40) & 26(40) - v Bangladesh

No wonder Upul waste of space Tharanga chose to withdraw from tests and stay out for next 6 months. Surprise Surprise during that period we just played Pakistan and the next test tour is of course against India. So you can ask yourself why upul chose to stay away from tests. But my question is whether he is the only possible choice to captain our sides in the shorter format when he doesn't even command a place in the side. So obviously it's another shambolic selection harakiri committed by our selection panels.

When there is a obvious choice in Milinda Siriwardane who is more than capable of being handed the captaincy. He is only 31 years old and when world cup comes around he will be only 33+. Moreover he has a mature head and played a major role in his Club's success. Besides he is very good fielder and a useful bowler and has the ability to clear boundaries.

If SLC selection panel have any grey matter they should give him the nod ahead of upul who doesn't deserve a place in any squad in my view and move him on before we does more damage to our side.

Bull S**t play like school boy cricketers. Dickwella has no patience trying to play for every ball like a fool, Mendis not suitable at all for the limited overs still don't know the shot silections. Chandimal does not know to settle down and go for runs still playing like a school boy cricketer, nothing to talk about Upul Tharanga still playing same old foolish shots. already offered the first one day to Pakistan on a decorated tray very easily. well done Pakistan U can win all the five matches very easily beating this school boy type srilankan national team.

@ Wal Adi Warusavithana:

PLEASE REFRESH OUR MINDS ABOUT KUSAL MENDIS'S LAST 5 ODIS TOO?

BY YOUR MEASURE WE WONT HAVE ENOUGH PLAYERS TO PLAY FOR SRI LANKA! WE WILL HAVE TO DROP PLAYERS AFTER EVERY FEW MATCHES... KEEP QUIET BAYYO

SANATH JAYASURIYA THE BAYYA ALSO TRIED THIS SAME STRATEGY... HE KEPT DROPPING SO MANY PLAYERS AFTER FEW GAMES... ITS A FAILED STRATEGY... NO ONE SHOULD BE DROPPED FOR 10 MATCHES OR MORE... PLAY A CONSISTENT SIDE!

@ Logic, completely agree. we should give someone like upul to captain the one day side and remain in the side until 2022 even if he does not makes runs. he will be just 37 and who knows he could break more records. That is the only way we can have a very consistent results in any matches we play.

I like your idea but i think instead of 10 innings it should 5 years minimum.
