Yes indeed he is giving too much chances for pathetic players like Dimuth, Chandi after consecutive failurers.

Now they will secure another shot inthe next series as well if Sanath be the selector

Sure why not - change the selectors! We did try this not too long ago, and the coach. Hey we even tried with a new captain in this series and the last one day series which we lost 5-0. We can change everything changeable (not many requests to change the coach yet) but here is the problem. Its not the selector who are out there in the middle.

Interesting comment above referring to Dimuth and Chandi as pathetic - the two guys that just scored great 100's to keep us in the game!

I wouldnt drop Jayasuriya based on this test match. I thought the squad selected was good, its the performances of the players when they come to play is the problem. But the reason i voted yes is because of the ODI squad Sanath selected. No malinga, no Aponso, no Pushpakumara. Noo idea why Malinga is not chosen, maybe he is injured and SLC are too embarrased to say anything. Malinga hasnt played cricket in a long time, the best thing he should do is play as much matches as possible despite the opponent. It is a rubbish selection to be honest, i could of selected better. the OD squad hasnt got a proper spinner! Lakshan Sandakan cant perform on his own, he also lacks the consistency. The other spinners are from all rounders like Prassana(who doesnt take much wickets) and Pathirana, Gunathillaka. Has Sanath not realised that Herath is retired from ODIs? The first thing you should pick in the squad is who will be best to replace Herath. Im so dissapointed to not see Aponso who played so well the last time i saw him or Pushpakumara who will most likely take over Herath in the future. The squad i would of picked (considering something happened to Malinga):

Upul Tharanga
Niroshan Dickwella
Kusal Mendis
Asela Gunaratne
Dinesh Chandimal
Dhanushka Gunathillaka
Suranga Lakmal
Lahiru Kumara
Vikum Sanjaya
Sachith Pathirana
Seekuge Prassana
Lakshan Sandakan
Amila Aponso
Malinda Pushpakumara

there is no reason for kusal perera to be chosen. Just because he hasnt been doing good recently doesnt mean the he should come in place over someone like Aponso and Pushpakumara. We already have openers of Tharanga and Dickwella and even Gunathillaka so why select another opener?

Suren, you must have been watching a different game to most of us.

You think that squad which played in the tests is a good one?

On what basis?

You have Suranga Lakmal who couldn't even beat the bat of Bangladeshi openers even he bowled wide of the stump, you have Nirioshan Dickwella who thinks he is playing in Cricket Carnival, then you have Asela who doesn't know whether to leave or play (he is good player in the shorter format but he is not a test player - not yet) and then you have butter finger Tharanga who grasses dollies as a habit.

And you say its not a bad squad?

Do you want me to go back refresh your memory about Sanath's selections over the period where he was in charge of selection?

The problem we have with Sanath is that he is more interested in looking himself in the mirror and spending time in the Gym where he is paid to watch probable players in action and spending time in the ground rather than outside.
