I think we people should take a bit of the blame as well, watching our team sliding down at a scary rate, doing nothing.. Incompetent politicians spoiling the game, ignoring the advice of great former players..Doing what they wish..Selecting teams for fun..One player one day, disappeared next day.. What can we do? Make a mass protest to overhaul all these incompetent ppl and elect the ones who really know a thing or two abt cricket, domestic structure, player management, selections, fielding technique(instead of blaming the belly), etc...

Btw, I do think fitness is important but it isn't the reason for drop catches...It's a bloody disgrace that masakadza took some really good catches while our "fitter" players drop dollies...

I'm not complaining abt the team..But the selections..If u pick a player, it should be after careful thought and with long term plans..Not to drop him next match..I've even forgotten who the 45 players are who were picked for l/O last 3 years...Utterly ridiculous..

The main reason is consistency and players are not taking responsibility. The players can't say they are not experienced or they are not playing enough of cricket. These were the reasons that could be given 30 years ago.

Sri Lankan players have to be tough mentally and play with a sense of arrogance. While coming to this test match with India the toss plays a vital role but by dropping catches especially against India on good batting wickets you are asking for trouble. It is a little disappointing how Indian spinners out bowled Sri Lankan spinners but of course, they had the better share of the conditions you could argue but I still say we did not bowl well. even on the second day, their spinners got more out of the wicket than Lankan spinners it could also be score board pressure. To beat India

1. Have some quality left arm fast bowlers who swing it into right handers like the Pakistani bowlers.

2. You need to bowl a lot of inswingers to their right-hand batsman

3. Be aggressive a little bit body contact or verbal talk will also help but do not go over the top, No smiling with Indians on the field

4. You must get Koli agitated and angry

5. I still believe we have a better pace attack than India's and we need to prepare wickets with bounce and seam to trouble Indian batsman but saying that our batsman has to play to their potential and consistently to their bowlers on those seaming wickets.

All of the above would be a good option too, but the reality is we have already blamed and changed players, captains, SLC administrators but the one white elephant remains. Year upon year, pulling the strings for cronies to loot not changing the constitution to fix SLC once and for all. Yes folks this none other than the honorable man - the only man who can actually fix SLC but chooses not to so the cronies can keep it a circus. Time to hold the top man responsible!
