An unlikely partnership results in a win for Sri Lanka

Kumar Sangakkara and Nuwan Kulasekara

With Sri Lanka chasing 294 to win in a must-win match, opening bowler Nuwan Kulasekara was promoted up the order to increase the run-rate in the power-play overs after Sri Lanka had just lost the wicket of Mahela Jayawardene. Kulasekara scored an unbeaten 58 off 38 balls (3x6s and 5x4s), and along with century-maker Kumar Sangakkara (134 not out), the pair combined to put on a 110-run unbeaten partnership for the fourth wicket to help Sri Lanka defeat England in their ICC Champions Trophy 2013 group match at The Oval on June 13, 2013. © AFP/Ian Kington
