I don't think Thilanga understands that neither he nor SLC 'saved' any one. They were simply doing their jobs. It was SLC's and SLC officials' responsibility to help clear Murali and help clear any bowler called for throwing. And fans today know many people were involved in assisting Murali. To take credit for it is ridiculous and to put Murali down like the way Thilanga has done is crass. Murali went on to repay Sri Lanka many times over with his record-breaking accomplishments and humanitarian work. Yet again Thilanga has proven himself unfit to hold this post. He tried to ridicule Malinga a few months back in the media too. SLC spending too appears to be out of control. Wonder what state the board's finances are in.

Worst cricket administration in the world.

It's pity we can't get rid of Thilanga and appoint someone like Sidath Weththamuni.

Both Thilanga and Arjuna not suitable for SLC administration.

First Malinga. Then Mahela now Murali.

Loooool, they are blaming the general public for hating on Murali and saying how ironic it is for the public to congratulate him now after criticising him for joking Australia... Now that's irony on another level. SLC were the ones who criticised Mueali and most of the public was on Murali's side. Pathetic from SLC to blame the fans and say they were in the right the whole time. Think we need a Lodha report of our own.

This is rather pathetic.

Thilanga wasn't even board President in 1995. Almost suggesting he managed to bribe ICC to ensure certain officials did not officiate SL games.
Darrell Hair actually officiated in games involving Murali later on.
Ross Emerson was removed because he was incompetent. He was on stress leave from his day job and then seeking 15 minutes of fame in the middle which backfired on him as he didn't expect Arjuna and co to take him on and possibly cancel the match and even tour.

Australian Biomechanist from Perth always states Murali wanted to know. He was willing to have himself tested and wanted to know if he was legal. If you look at his interviews or read his book you can see this.

Yes it was Thilanga not the ICC's cricket committee of Michael Holding at others that recommended review and changes to bowling actions.

If anything Thilanga's own career benefitted from the Murali saga.
Next time ICC official is around at a press conference hopefully some journalists ask him about his umpire comment...and follow it up with questions about his ethical background from bookies to having main witness at his trial killed off, to his other politics. See how red faced David Richardson and the ICC are then!

I thought Srinivasan and the Bangladesh CEO were nutcases but Thilanga is right up there with them. Heads stuck so far up their own backsides!

Hope the fans of cricket in Sri Lanka rise up get thugs like this ousted.
