Sri Lankan IPL discards gain valuable match practice in Bangladesh

Members of Sri Lanka's T20 squad to England for this summer's ICC T20 World Cup are in Bangladesh at the moment gaining much needed match practice.

Chamara Kapugedera, Chamara Silva, and Jehan Mubarak are currently in Bangladesh taking part in the Habib Group Port City League (PCL) Twenty20 Cricket Tournament.

Sri Lanka's new ODI and T20 outfit

Sri Lanka Cricket has released images of Sri Lanka's new ODI outfit. Reebok signed an agreement which would give it rights to clothe Sri Lanka's national cricketers as well as it's youth squads.

The agreement was signed on the 30th of April at the Taj Samudra hotel in Colombo.

Muralitharan Versus Gilchrist - A Mouth Watering Encounter Beckons

Tomorrow's encounter between the Chennai Super Kings and the Deccan Chargers will feature a contests within a contest.

Adam Gilchrist who in his autobiography claimed that Murali's enjoyed some form of political protection and that the rules were changed to accommodate him, will face off with Test Cricket and ODI Cricket's highest wicket taker.

Sri Lanka may host semi-final fixture in ICC World Cup 2011

As a result of the terrorist attacks on Sri Lanka's cricketers, the ICC announced that all 2011 World Cup fixtures scheduled in Pakistan would be relocated to venues in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

This was discussed at the International Cricket Council Meeting on the 17th and 18th of April.

Muralitharan omitted in Wisden’s 2008 Test Eleven

Wisden recently announced its best Test XI for 2008. The final eleven was chosen by a panel of three former players, Ravi Shastri, Ian Bishop, and Ian Smith.

Players from all test playing nations were picked on their performances from the 2008 calendar year.

The significance of the man's deed was evident when Kumar Sangakkara embraced Meher warmly, as if to say, "Thank you for saving my life".

It lasted long enough for one to know that Sanga owed this man his life.

Meher Mohammed Khalil, the bus driver of the ill fated coach, was instrumental in driving the players out of harms way when the Sri Lankan cricket team came under attack. Six police officers and a driver were killed, and seven members of the Sri Lankan team were wounded when more than a dozen heavily-armed gunmen ambushed the team convoy en route to a Test match against Pakistan.

Like a Fine Wine Sanath Jayasuriya Gets Better With Age

Sanath Jayasuriya is considered by many as the man who single handedly changed the manner in which all international teams approached batting in Cricket.

He took on the bowling in the first fifteen overs when other teams concentrated more on consolidation. Players of the likes of Sehwag and Gilchrist were only thought of as opening batsmen once Jayasuriya proved to the world that success was possible when attacking against the new ball.

In the 1996 cricket world cup when other teams aimed for scores between 40 to 50 runs in the first 15 overs, Sri Lanka aimed for 100.

The quick thinking and courage of Mehar ' The Bullet Dodger' Khalil has now given him super hero status.

 The gunmen - seen on CCTV footage fleeing calmly - only left the scene of the attack after Mehar managed to drive the bus into the Gadaffi Stadium.
