Afghanistan go down fighting against Sri Lanka-A

A strong Sri Lanka A team, so far unbeaten in the 4 nation tournament, took on spirited Afghanistan at the P. Sara Oval yesterday.

Afghanistan, highly charged from their recent impressive Test victory over the Irish in Dambulla, certainly looked to repeat their success on the shorter format too. They were by no means intimidated by the big boys of Sri Lanka-A.

Sri-Lanka A team beats Canada, again!

 This time it was no walk in the park for the Srilankan A team who took on the visiting Canadians once more, playing a 50 over match at Colombo Colts Club.
Canadians did their best to chase the very decent total achieved by the Sri-Lankans, but losing by 45 runs.

Afghanistan beats Ireland in Dambulla

ICC Intercontinental cup qualifier between Ireland and Afghanistan concluded on the 24th of January 2010, registering an impressive 7 wickets win by Afghanistan.
This ended the luck of the Irish which won them the last 18 consecutive matches.

Sri Lanka - A beat Canada by 6 wickets and Redheads rule in Rangiri Dambulla

Sri Lanka A team got off to a fine start today at the Nondescript Cricket Club, Colombo, defeating Canada by 6 wickets with 104 balls to spare.

Lasith Malinga to tie the knot

Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga will wed his long term girlfriend on Friday the 22nd of January 2010.

Sri Lankan cricketers practise at home

Almost all the players who were taking part in the Indian Premier League tournament in South Africa arrived back in Sri Lanka over the last couple of days.

The team was to travel straight from South Africa to England, around 26th - 27th of June. The original plan seems to have changed.
