Australia should appoint Aron Finch as the captain and should open the batting with Aaron Finch and Shaun March. Number three should be Glen Maxwell. This change will make the team more stronger.

I think need to worry about who should captain Sri Lanka first.

But yes Finch should be opening in limited overs stuff..captaincy? Maybe but not in Test cricket.
George Bailey was used in past as limited overs skipper and still playing...again not for Tests.

Having said all that I don't think any captain would have made a difference on that Trent Bridge track with that bowling attack against England as they are at the moment.

so that's mean Island cricket is only for comments regarding Sri Lanka, Can't we express any idea on other countries as a cricket lover ?

Yes you can so sorry if it is sounding like I am saying you can't but given controversy over SL's captain and debate if he will play next series why be telling other nations to do with theirs?

Unless the is injury or a suspension to Paine not going to happen mid series. Finch is the VC.

But would Finch as Captain made a difference to the results in this series?
England beat Australia 4-1 in Australia with some of the regular bowlers playing the odd match and it wasn't Paine as captain.
Perhaps Paine not their as player would have allowed Carey to play.
The time he broke his finger against the Aussie Allstars a number of years ago Paine was an attacking limited overs batsmen and opening batting

CA asked for this tour knowing WC is in England next year, they wouldn't have expected Smith and Warner out at same time but they were probably always going to look at some younger players as backup bowlers and backup openers.

They have been below par leading up to previous World Cups and then peaked at the right time in all but 2011 since 1996. Yes this time they are getting humiliated too but add some of those more experienced batsmen and bowlers to the squad in a years time and they can't be discounted as a threat for the cup.

As an interim captain Paine not bad (if he warrants a place in the XI). Most likely Smith will come straight back into the side. He can't captain for an additional year but already Paine contacts him. The 2 of them made their test debuts in same game and reasonably close. Only thing against Paine is he needs to keep his spot in the XI which in the Test side he shouldn't have a problem. ODIs is his challenge

You will be happy he is opening again today. Experiment with Short ditched!
