ODI Problem for Sri Lanka (Brief Statement)

  • The one thing I have noticed is that most Sri Lankan domestic players average in the mid-20s for List A games, unlike First class games where they average 35+. Therefore that`s why Sri Lanka struggles in ODIs because not enough of them know how to build an innings in 50 overs.
  • Kusal Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Milinda Siriwardana, Dasun Shanaka, Chamara Kapugedera, Thisara Perera, Sachith Pathirana, Asela Gunaratne, and many more have been apart of the national ODI Squad having List A (50 Over Domestic Cricket) Averages of less than or around 25.

My only concern about sl cricket....
Our team needs build as a corporate team not individualistic performers Ka Sangakara. The time Aravinda was playing he contributed to the team .

Secondly...Chandimal should be brought back ...he is an asset like Upul.

Our best opening pair ND & DK should be brought back to their no1 & 2 positions.

My understanding is Upul can take no 3 position followed by Mattews no 4.Kausal back in form should be in no Chandimal no 6 followed by Asela no

These seven players cannot be omitted at any.cost.Then you have the champion Lakmal.select the rest of the 3 ballers who can take wickets.

The last but not the least the four 4 players adding to the 15fifteen will be upto the captain and the coach Hatu.

Please let Hatu work according to his expertise. Chandimal should be the National captain for Test/ODI

T20 Team captain yet to be selected????

Good Luck SL Cricket
