Sri Lanka's most senior batter's Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal lift the team to a respective milestone with a creeping partnership. The partnership of 181 in 476 for the 4th wicket counts as the 2nd slowest partnership for any wicket by a visiting team in term of ball faced in India.

Angelo the former skipper had to wait for 36 innings from 2015 for his 8th Test century; while Dinesh Chandimal shows his form with the bat in longer version of the game.

Dinesh Chandimal groomed with the captaincy responsibility with the bat and this is his 2nd Test as a captain in short stint of the career. Chandimal scored couple of half centuries in 2nd Test played in Kolkata.

With both Angelo & Chandimal's effort with the bat showed India the batting quality  buried for sometime today.

Both Angelo and Chandimal were struggled with mask yesterday on field due to polluted air condition had gone hell of a job today to stay away from obstractions.

India scored 536 for 7 before declaration in 1st inning.

If you let Rangana Herath to be frontline batsman for 20 innings, even he would make a century. Random century by frontline batsman is not a big deal for bragging rights.
