SLC should be ashamed - ODI players return home from airport

Nine of Sri Lanka ODI players were scheduled to leave the island last night via UL 197 to Delhi to take part in Three-match ODI series.

However, the Minister of Sports took a stern decision to call them home as the Sri Lanka Cricket failed to get approval for the team before leaving.

Sources reveal that SLC has not sent the 15 man squad to the ministry for the required approvals.

According to the National Sports Act, it's compulsory to acquire approval for national teams representatives by fellow sporting associations and federations from the Minister of Sports.

Sri Lanka Cricket yet to release the 15 man squad for the Media and public.

Sources confirmed that Nine of ODI players including the captain Thisara Perera arrived to the Air Port and pulled back at last-minute.

Political interference at it's best.

No need for Indian fans or players (past or present) to try humiliate the Sri Lanka team. The board and sport ministry already do so!
