10.BANGLADESH
Bangladesh gave some good fight to its opponents in this T20 World cup. Match against Pakistan they came firing all cylinders, Shakib Al Hasan posted the highest score by a Bangladesh batsman to get their 2nd highest total on T20.

9. AFGHANISTAN
One of the most spirited team in T20 World cup. They are raw and played fear less cricket. Cricket is important in the war prone Afghanistan. Cricket unites them and now they are here to perform. They don’t have experience else really they would have done much better.

8. ENGLAND
Came into the tournament as the defending champions but they never performed. They got humiliated against India settling for their lowest score in T20. English players have no answers to spin. Without Pieterson they are less than an ordinary side in Sub continent.

7. SOUTH AFRICA
They have no wins in Super eight but they have some good T20 players in the squad. The big names include Morkel brothers, Levi, Stern, AB devillers , Du Plessis, Kallis, What can be a better T20 team but on field it never worked for them.

6. NEW ZEALAND

New Zealand played some good cricket. World cup became more interesting because of them. But simply they are not good enough to make it to semis. They created two super over in this world cup and lose it. Southee is one of the best deaths over bowler for New Zealand who had done wonders few times for Chennai super kings in final over and Super Over against Australia at the Liliputian Jade Stadium in Christchurch was undone by Gayle and co. He often bowls wide’s and no balls in super over. But still they played good cricket.

5. AUSTRALIA

Watson and Warner made the team and all other played around them. When the opponents cracked their code they fell apart. They don’t have quality spinners to play in sub continent. Even on the field there are few misfields and they are costly too. I feel David Hussey much more useful in sub continent than Maxwell. Still they made to semi final where theoretically they ranked below Ireland. There are many positive’s for them to take home. Watson and Warner resemble Hayden and Gilly but important is that they don’t have Shane Warne to play in Sub continent.

4. INDIA
Dhoni has to blame his selectors and himself. India have the biggest T20 league IPL and which is also their only T20 domestic league, then where are the best domestic players of IPL ? Mandeep singh, Munaf patel, Rayadu, no one got selected. Only person went to play with IPL credits was Balaji and he became the highest wicket taker for India in this T20 World cup. If those best of IPL came to play then it would be a different story. But still there are lots of pressures on selectors directly and indirectly from retired players like Ganguly, Kumble etc to take Harbhajan singh, Sehwag into the team. Nevertheless Indian team played well more than expected. Lot of Positive to take out of the tournament, they always a weak bowling side but they bowled out 4 of 5 opponents they played, Also won the most biggest match (According to Indians) against arch rival Pakistan. Just one big lose they were out of T20 World cup. Selectors no need to learn from other teams, just should read the year 2007 when they won inaugural T20 World cup, entire squad was young and agile. Can the new selection committee under Sandeep Patil make any difference?

3. PAKISTAN
Pakistan is a best T20 team in the world, their attitude make themselves perfect to this format of the game. Haffez Captaincy was good but not his batting. He brought a new format and used it regularly by bowling 15 over’s with spin. Team selection was also not as good as they keep Afridi for all matches, where he gone for ducks most of the match. In particular their approach in Semi final against Srilanka was not that great, their middle order was not getting the runs when they want. Raza Hassan and Jamshed are bright spots for future.

2. WEST INDIES
Best entertainers in cricket field came as the pre tournament favorites and took home the T20 world cup. West Indies deserve it. They have the best T20 team on paper and also proved on field. All the big names include Gayle, Pollard, Bravo, Narine, Russel. Their dance was more exciting and better than the cheer leaders. Caribbean flair all over srilanka when they won the World cup, Samuel storm varnish the Srilankan dreams. Team have good prospect ahead, not only in T20 but also in all format. World celebrated their win and remembering the old glory days of West Indies cricket. Yes they are back.

1. SRILANKA
Have to be the host Srilanka, they played overall good cricket. They lived up to the expectation as the host and used the home advantage very well. But as usual they choked in the final, that too was expected when they have lost two consecutive world cup finals. Srilanka never a complete T20 team, they don’t have T20 specialist other than Malinga, Mahela and out off form Dilshan, but Mahela used his limited resource well and utilized the home conditions. There are some good players like Herath, Thisara, and Jeevan mendis made their way to the final. Now looking at 2015, the real question is that how they are going to prepare for it, if they are going to 2015 world cup with Mahela, Dilshan, Sanga then it will be more difficult to making the semis. Replacements are not ready for them, in particular captain position. But well done as of now.

Thanks Srilanka for giving Wonderful T20 world cup!!
Cheers!!

I would swap Ind with NZ who played good cricket and were unlucky to lose two super overs in the super 8's. One must always compare available resources of which India has in abundance, in comparison NZ have little, but were awfully competitive. I would also swap SA with Bangladesh. SA for me was the major dissappointment - they have so much in terms of batting bowling and fielding options but gave so very little.

New Zealand were brilliant, they were just unlucky with the super overs. I'd have them higher on my list.
