I love staying at Heritance Kandalama

I really like the minimal deco there. But the novelty with monkeys are worn off now, lol.

I've stayed there about 6 or 7 times and I enjoyed every time.
Staff are very nice, make you feel very welcome and the hotel rooms and facilities are very high standards.

When there's Cricket on at Rangiri Dambulla stadium, Kandalama hotel provides catering for Crickerters and invitees. And it's very nice too.

No wonder Cricketers love it there. English team stayed there during there ODI series in Oct 07.

All Heritance hotels are nice actually, I stayed in Heritance Ahungalla too, during England v Srilanka Galle test in December 07 after been very badly let down by the Light House hotel in Galle, the day before Galle Test, despite almost ruining my holiday, making me 2 hours late for the test match I waited to see for so long, they did not even offer an apology.

Instead, the general manager and the front office manager were very unprofessional and tried to make out that we were lying about the booking.

If anybody thinking about booking at the Light House hotel during Cricket  beware, they will not hesitate to strand you on the streets.

That made me weary of booking with any belong to Jetwing group. Although I've had very pleasant stays at many of there other hotels before. Notably, their  the Yala Safari Park hotel the year before it got completely destroyed by the Tsunami.

Hope in the current economic climate , when their bookings are down and if they have to reduce staff numbers, they'll  cut out the "dead wood", get rid of the  staff that gives a bad name to the company. I certainly won't be going back there and won't recommend it to anybody.
