There were several remarkable aspects to Mahela Jayawardena’s century for Punjab against Kolkata on a humid Sunday afternoon at the Eden Gardens, not the least being that he had been drafted into the game only a few minutes before start of play when young gun Shaun Marsh declared that he was unfit.
