Reports are coming about Pakistani players being involved in Match Fixing scandal !

The fourth Test between England and Pakistan at Lord's is at the centre of a police investigation into spot-fixing, after a 35-year-old man was arrested after allegedly being caught offering to bribe Pakistan's bowlers to bowl no-balls on demand.

According to a report in The News of the World, Mazher Majeed accepted £150,000 to arrange a fix involving Pakistan's new-ball bowlers, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif, whom he allegedly asked to bowl no-balls at specific moments of the match. The paper also alleges that the team captain, Salman Butt, and the wicketkeeper, Kamran Akmal, are involved, along with three other unnamed cricketers.

Cricinfo understands from a source close to the investigation that a sum of £25,000 was found in the room of one of the Pakistan players, with further sums of £3000-4000 found on two other players. The source also confirmed that Mazheer was known to the team, but in an informal capacity, and added that they fully expected to resume the Lord's Test on Sunday morning.

In a video secretly recorded during the NOTW investigation, a man alleged to be Mazher is clearly heard predicting that Amir would bowl the first over of the England innings, and that he would deliver a no-ball from the first ball of the third over - which as Cricinfo's ball-by-ball commentary noted: "was an enormous no-ball, good half a metre over the line." The man also appeared to correctly predict a no-ball from the sixth ball of the tenth over, bowled this time by Asif.

A Scotland Yard spokeman said: "Following information received from the News of the World we have today [Saturday, August 28] arrested a 35-year old man on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud bookmakers."

Pakistan's team manager Yawar Saeed confirmed to Sky News that the allegations were being investigated, with police turning up at the team hotel in Swiss Cottage at 7.30pm, shortly after the close of an eventful third day of the Lord's Test, in which Pakistan were left on the brink of defeat after losing 14 wickets in the day.

According to Sky News reporters outside the team hotel, police officers were seen leaving the building with two bags at around 11pm, while an unidentified man in a Pakistan training top was understood to have been taken away in an unmarked police car from the back of the building, although the team manager denied that any arrests had been made within the squad.

Even allowing for their disastrous on-field performance, Pakistan left Lord's with unusual haste after the third day's play, with the team bus departing barely 20 minutes after the close of play, before any member of the squad had taken part in the mandatory post-match press conference.

Earn Money Quickly ! - Players hungry for Money not for Success

Another thing, Pakistani Team was 9 for 1 in both innings and then later they were 9 for 2 in both the innings.

Also Why did Asif and Aamir requested for Saw dust after bowling huge no-balls. They could have asked even before starting their over.

I believe huge no-balls were bowled such that Umpire can see it clearly which he did and they seemed to be planned no-balls because if you see Aamir he was marking up his run up again like a kid, which he should have done before bowling.

Second new ball during first England innings, look at the two fast bowlers that were operating, it was "Ajmal" and "Imran Farhat" are these the two quickest bowlers to use the new ball?

Umar akmal seemed to find it difficult to view ball because of Side-screen. How did the English batsmen play so well using the same side screen ? No other Pakistani batsman claimed such a problem.

Over acting of Salman Butt after he got out in both the innings, he almost took the "Review" after getting out in both the innings. Pure acting ? If you loved your wicket this much then you should have played with more concentration.

Look at the foot work of Salman butt, absolutely no foot work in both the innings. Stand and deliver is a strategy used in twenty twenty not in Test cricket. Go learn basic techniques first.

Why every returning batsmen in Pakistan cricket scores a half century at least. It was already predicted on Yousuf's return. That's what all Paki team members do when they are brought back in to team.

Pakistan cricket would impose life time ban on the players involved in Match fixing but you might be able to see them back to cricket within next couple of months. Money works i guess. They come back by paying money as they have to earn more right?

No wonder why we drop catches which are absolutely dolly and simple because we have fielding coach ?

Pakistani bowlers don't seem to take the right reviews they do not know what they are appealing for?

Waiste of review by Salman butt in second innings when he got out. One can know whether the ball struck the pad first or bad as he was facing a spinner.

We make batsmen and bowlers for other teams. Broad is a batsmen ? and Swann is a world class spinner ? right.

Yasir hameed dropped a catch in slip on the bowling of Imran farhat, he was not replaced and the next ball he dropped again. Waow.

Heard commentery as: Pakistan had the same field when England were 102 for 7 and later when they were 212 for 7 the field was the same. Nice captaincy.

Entire team got out less than 100 runs in the series multiple times. How many times has it ever happened to a Test team in one series in past ?

No all rounder available in Pakistan team, what a talent hunt that is being made and selected in Pakistan team?
