Just a thought; could Sri lankas lack of a proper coach be affecting the performance and attitude of the players, as suddenly they seems aimless and unable to construct an innings?

Most of our recent losses can

Most of our recent losses can be attributed directly to batting collapses. It sometimes seems like they are batting without a strategy or game plan. How else can you explain some of our batsmen trying to hit us out of trouble, only to lose their wickets, when we're 5 or 6 down with less than 200 on the board?

If there was some method or strategy involved, middle order batsmen would be looking to build a partnership the old-fashioned way when the top order has collapsed.

Hashan Tillakaratne did that for us for years. He would hold the tail together and that was his role in the side. Somehow Samaraweera, after reinventing his game and becoming more aggressive, can't seem to fill that role for us.

Not even Sanath tried to slog every ball like Dilshan does. He should be looking to play proper strokes, in Test cricket at least. His early dismissal starts the slide and exposes the middle order to the new ball bowlers early.

You can't expect Rumesh to come in from nowhere and make a difference. He's probably just there because it looks odd not having a coach. So, yeah not having a proper coach has an affect. And, I always thought Bayliss was a weak coach. I hope we find a good coach fast.
