Dilshan had a bad tour of Australia with the bat. He made 7, 47 and 1. In this series against WI he got out for 11 today. He has lost that consistency that got him the opening slot I think.

He's a key player for us. So

He's a key player for us. So we can allow a few failures. He has a century under his belt agains India in recent series so that's ok.

Thats right. He can attack

Thats right. He can attack and its ok if he gets out taking the risk. Tharanga can steady the ship like he did today.

if the team management think

if the team management think so, then can drop him down the order and open with Mahela.

There is no way Dilshan will

There is no way Dilshan will be dropped down the order. And he should not be demoted, IMHO. If you're asking the guy to attack against the new ball, we can allow a few failures in the process.

dilshans form

Sanath is waiting for Dilshan to lose his form. Sanath shud be laid to rest permanently. He has lost all respect. He is hoping that SL fares poorly at start and then he wants to play at end to get a farewell and more money to his overflowing kitty.

One does not drop your best

One does not drop your best player on the back of a few matches. A major reason for the Lions success over the past 1 to 2 years has been the attacking role of Dilly during that time. So much so that teams have resorted to trying to outwit him. Sanga and Mahela may be classier players, but, Dilly is the single most important wicket for the opposition. He is not the destructive player Sana was, but, similar to Sana, SL can win a game if Dilly fires. The stats over the last couple of years back his performance over the past 2 years. The way Dilly bats there is the risk of some early dismissals. Dilly is the single most important factor to the Lanka's chances. We need him to fire. The other key players are Malinga and Mathews. Form and fitness will be a key to these players.
