They probably chose to bowl

They probably chose to bowl first because of the overcast conditions. Are we playing only one spinner??

Weather

Sorry Hilal I missed that. If play is possible anywhere with weather like this it will be at the SSC. I see there is a half hour delay in start, you can be sure that there will be interruptions, the weather is foul.

However I hear it has cleared up in Kandy which is where the weather comes from the wind is definitely blowing from the north East right now. So the N/E monsoon has started this usually means that the central hills ensure that there is not too much rain in Colombo, however at the start of the monsoon the whole country gets drenched so fingers crossed !

Thanks, Ravana. We really

Thanks, Ravana. We really need to shoot them out for next to nothing and bat for a long time and then do it all over again to win. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see Eranga, Welegedara and Lakmal being able to bowl out the Aussies twice.

Well Eranga was lucky but

Well Eranga was lucky but Lakmal has bowled a few beauties, Welegedera is the big disappointment. If he was a patch on Vaasy he would be counting a couple by now !

So the new look team is taking place.....my next radical change would be for Sanga to retire from tests and allow Chandimal to bat at 3 and keep ( he is young enough to do both in tests) and allow another spinner to play with PJ also calling it a day.

My New Look S/L test team:
Paranavithana
Thirimanne
Chandimal (wk)
Mahela
Dilshan
Mathews
Randiv
Herath
Eranga
Lakmal
Mendis / Prasanna

And groom someone to take over from Mahela by mid 2012. Any suggestions regarding a good middle order test batsman from among the youngsters?
