Comparison of Eng & Aust Incomes

Although the highest-paid of England’s 12 centrally-qualified players can expect to earn around £700,000 a year, including team sponsorship deals, their Australian counterparts are believed to get around double that.

NZW 2012 income details

New Zealand Cricket contracts range from $72,000 to $177,000, and the players also paid a range of healthy match fees: $7508 for a test, $3254 for a one-dayer and $2127 for a twenty/20.

Income varies depending on how often an athlete plays, but an average Black Cap might expect to earn between $150,000 and $170,000.

Stat speaks here, that's why

Stat speaks here, that's why even many Indian player get huge benefits from IPL. For many Indian players IPL salary is higher than their Contract salary. So it will be same for SL players.

SLC would have blackmailed to cancel the NOC for IPL, Which would have made the players to sign the contract. This may create more disinterest among the players. I see no vision for development.

English player income 2013

England's centrally contracted players are understood to be on retainers of between £250,000 and £400,000 a year. Kevin Pietersen's personal wealth is estimated at £5m. But here's an uncomfortable truth: Porter has a point. Cricket Australia announced a new five-year agreement with its own players last June. Michael Clarke and Shane Watson are reported to be on retainers of over £1m each

SL 2013 contracts

Under the new contracts, the central contract fees range from $140,000 (Cat 1) to $36,000 (Cat 4). Previously, there were six contract categories with the top payment being $120,000.

Since 2008 and up until this new contract, players used to get $5000 per Test, $3000 per ODI and $1500 per T20.New contract payments are the same with the exception of Test match fees, which have gone up to $7500.Players see a $2500 increase in payments for Tests, but few Tests are scheduled this year.

There are also bonuses on match fees for winning series against higher-ranked teams.

In addition to contract fees and match fees, used to receive 25% share of Guarantee Fees for ICC and ACC events as image rights compensation, as well as 25% share of Team Sponsorship (spilt among all contracted players and team officials).

The ICC revenue shares are worth around $150,000 per player in a World Cup and about 50% of that for T20s.

Estimate: A top-ranked player makes $250K in contract / match fees plus $50K to $150K for ICC revenue shares. A middle-ranked player may make $125K and the same revenue ICC shares (although this is apparently weighted according to player seniority).

New contracts are effectively a pay cut of 25-40% of player earnings, depending on the tournaments played.
