Hypothetical situations

All this boy will see is the nets in those grounds that is my worry. The crowd at Eden Gardens or a full MCG for that matter is impossible to get used to ask anyone who has played there.

As for the snow in Dharmasala or the fog in Kolkota those are exceptional situations , so sacrificing our most promising young spinner for a situation that may or may not arise is acceptable to you ?

This is not a questing of

This is not a questing of picking where you work when you have a business degree, These are national assets which have lot of promis. it is not a matter of who is playing you in for the perticular month and go and play there situation. This is a matter of policy, this is matter of prioritising what is best for the country. In the case of Akila he has earn enough and more time to earn (take Ajantha for an example even with his current form he was sold for USD 750K).

The question here is not the freedom of emplyment but whether this is the right moment to expose him to leagues like IPL and who has the responsibility over his future. In a similar situation, IPL stinct for Nuwan Pradeep didn't do much good for him did it? what happend was that he was exhausted as a net bowler for RCB and got injured during warmup game in the SL tour.

@Ravana what about the

@Ravana what about the different ball brands ? flat tracks? these issues don't come in isolation .. all these comes with a mix , and thatz how make the conditions so difficult to adapt ..

anyways whatever the condition is it's not like the whole indian team will ask akila to ball to them ... only MSD ,Rain ad jadeja in among the international indian players in that CSK side,others in other teams ,he may or may not ball to them , akila has another 7 wickets to take in that indian team when he come to play into the national side... my problem is that why we don't like to see the other side of the coin? if indians can get used to play akila , akila should be able to learn how to bowl to the indians in India?

Net Bowling

look I dont want to sound patronizing but net bowling mostly means that you are told what to do and the moment a batter is not comfortable he will ask for someone else, you dont have a chance to work out their weaknesses.

If Dhoni works out how to play Akila he is going to keep that to himself and not tell the rest of the indian side ?

The different balls make a difference to the new ball bowlers and what is there to stop SLC from buying some of those balls (which they do) for practice before a tour ?

Flat tracks boy we have plenty of those !

@SDF Food for thought on your

@SDF
Food for thought on your argumant

1. How many IPL players were there in the English TEST team which beat India in India?
Not alot (I could think of only Pietersen and Broad), which shows that you do not need IPL exposure to win in India

2. How many IPL players were there in the English ODI team which lost to India?
About 4-5 players, which shows IPL exposure do not necessarily make a national team suceed in India

3. How many IPL players were there in the Pakistan ODI team which beat India in India?
Non, which again prooves you do not need IPL or exposure in Indian condition for that matter (current Pakistan team does not have much exposure in India) to win in India.

@ SDF His injury started just

@ SDF
His injury started just after IPL. Injury prone players needs rehabilitation traning and proper resting, in Nuwan's case I do not think he had either due to IPL.

And for how long was he successful in troubeling Indian batsmen? not for long cos he got injured again. I hope you get my point. We need bowlers who are fit like Vaas or Steyn. Then as a country we can afford to send them to foreign leagues.

@Ravana i told you not to

@Ravana i told you not to talk about conditions(flat track,ball, etc) separately(isolation), it may sound stupid

"If Dhoni works out how to play Akila he is going to keep that to himself and not tell the rest of the indian side ?" << haha , so you think a player can verbally train another player how play like him ? LOL ... dude if others try to play MSD's tricky getaway shots they might ended up in the hospital haha .. lara worked out how to play murali , but other WI's collapsed ,sanga - ajaml , murali- flower .. the list goes on and on. but other team members fail . you can't train a player how to play a bowler verbally.

@warunamk "how long was he

@warunamk "how long was he successful in troubling Indian batsmen?" << he only played two matches against india he did trouble kohli both times and we never play against them .

btw Pat Cummins don't even play IPL , but he get injured all the time , that's not IPL's fault mate that's something to do with our "luxury industrial life style " it's a mystery issue the world having atm, even high tech countries like USA , Oz can't figure that out . the world will never get fit players like vass,Steyn again .

@SDF Exactly my point about

@SDF

Exactly my point about players like Nuwan Pradeep and Shaminda Eranga, They are injury prone players, they should be saved for National side arather than exhausting then in all PLs around the world, ofcause they have to be conpensated for that. I think that is what Pat Cummings and AC are doing.

All what I am saying is SLC should not anly be about money, and SLC should have a backbone to make these decissions rather than kissing BCCI's feet and dance to their tune.
