I mean there is no advertising, no billboard around Sri Lanka and no ads on websites or anything to get fans interested.

Will SLC give free tickets to friends and families to fill the stadiums? Will you buy tickets and go to watch these matches??

About one month before tournamnt they decide to go with franchise model and not even franchises have time to market their teams.

So basically no promotion of the event except in a few news articles!!

Will this be another SLC flop???

I really hope this turns out

I really hope this turns out to be a tournament we are all proud of. But as Short-Leg says, it's disappointing to see that very little money has been invested on marketing this tournament. India invested a lot of money on promotion/branding/marketing and that investment paid off with a hugely successful tournament.

The greed for money and corruption has sucked the life out...

In Sri Lanka, cricket is followed by millions. Our players have never let the nation down in big tournaments. This includes World Cups, Champion Trophies, WT20's and now tournaments like IPL, BPL, KFC BIG BASH amd ENGLISH T20 etc.

But same cannot be said; about our sports ministry, Cricket board and player associations. The greed for money and corruption has sucked the life out of this governing bodies.

SLPL is one way in which our governing bodies can win the trust of our people, by uniting Sri Lankans with rest of the cricketing world. This tournament can be only declared successful if things are done properly, minus the corruption and political influence. Sri Lanka missed a great chance to win a world cup due to the political influence last year. I hope this doesn't repeat with SLPL.

If this does, its gonna be another fallen leaf without notice. No meaning and desire. I wish SLPL all the success. Make our nation proud.
