Yes. No doubt about that one. I think Jonty introduced a new fielding culture for the cricketing world. I once heard De Mel saying they will never concider players who are not sharp in the field. Maybe one reason Avishka and Nuwan Zoysa went out of the radar due to their fielding. In the current SL team best fielder is Dilshan. Next Kapu. Mahela, Malinga, Maharoof also really good.

Yeah Jonty was brilliant but

Yeah Jonty was brilliant but sometimes people get stuck on names. Jonty always was just diving, even for easy catches like Roshan Mahanama. Made it look spectacular.

There have been other good fielders Ponting, Symonds, Collinwood, Dilshan..

Yeah, I've had the priviledge of watching Jonty live many times. Although great as he was, he did tend to put on a bit of a show.
