Yahoonews, ICC, 28 April 2010: Zimbabwe caused the shock of the day with a dramatic one-run win over Australia in St Lucia in the warm-up matches for the ICC World Twenty20 2010.

In a repeat of the ICC World Twenty20 2007 victory over Australia at Cape Town, it provides Prosper Utseya's side with a massive boost ahead of the tournament.

Elton Chigumbura hit 76 from just 33 balls as Zimbabwe reached 173-7 off 20 overs, before restricting Australia to 172-7 despite David Warner's eye-catching innings of 72.

In Guyana, Jesse Ryder's spectacular innings of 64 off 30 balls, including five sixes, was the catalyst for New Zealand's 40-run win over Ireland.

New Zealand made 187/5 off 20 overs, before Ireland reached 147/9 in reply.

In the other afternoon game, Bangladesh achieved a comfortable 36-run win over a Barbados XI to hand it a confident boost ahead of the tournament.

Imrul Kayes' innings of 57 helped Bangladesh reach 166-5 off 20 overs, while in reply Barbados could only reach 130-3 with Ryan Hinds recording a half century.

Pakistan had earlier won its opening warm-up game by 68 runs against a Windward Islands XI.
