Akila Dananjaya to miss part of Asia Cup

Sri Lanka have been dealt a severe blow with off-spinner Akila Dananjaya withdrawing from the first leg of the six nation Asia Cup tournament due to personal reasons. The 24-year-old has been Sri Lanka’s main match winner in shorter formats of the game and in his last ODI claimed career best figures

It is too bad to miss Akila Dhananjaya in Asia Cup matches. He his a versatile spinner who could change the game at any time.

Heart never takes a break for until the last breath. Once you know that you are a vital leg of a tripod, you are committed to serve as just like those brave soldiers did for mother Lanka. It is absolutely shame & selfish, of Akila to avoid playing two crucial games against Afg & Ban, when he has complete resources (money, extended family support) to take care personal family matters. SL ODI can compete against any team when the CORE UNIT (UT, Dikka (wk), TP, KJP, Shanaka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Akila, Malinga) put mother Lanka before any personal matter other than critical personal injury (or if the player is ten month pregnant). Akila, If you were in military of certain countries, you will be court Martial for failing to serve the country. Very shameful, mean, selfish act by SL star bowler. This type of excuses are well accepted only from mediocre players who can be replaced easily with ignored stars by selection committee.
