Nuwan Pradeep injured, Angelo Perera included in Sri Lanka ODI squad

Middle order batsman Angelo Perera has been called up to the Sri Lanka ODI squad for the Australian series replacing injured fast-bowler Nuwan Pradeep. Perera impressed the selectors during the Sri Lanka ‘A’ tour of England last month scoring 169 runs in 4 matches at an average of 56.3...

This is a very good move, taken by the selectors. He is one of the best among sl cricketers. Hopefully they will give him more chances to prove himself. He must be a regular member in the team and included test team too. so that, he will become a good asset to 2019 wc. He is a very good middle order player and a useful bowler.

Why are we calling this guy up when we should be calling up a fast bowler? And why Angelo Perera of all people? He scored 169 runs in that tries ties, compared to 164 by Dickwella. But the biggest difference is that Angelo's strike rate was 77 compared to Dickwella's 130. If we want a dashing middle order batsman, Perera is not the one we are looking for. But we should have honestly gone for a proper fast bowler, not another batsman.

What exactly is the move here replacing a fast bowler with a batsman who can spin? I would have gone for a hard hitting batter.

Poor Selection.... Must be a seaming All Rounder or Seamer

We must target for competitive cricket around the world not only in Sri Lanka
