Dav Whatmore changed my career - Marvan Atapattu

You have known Dav Whatmore for a long time. What is your working relationship with him like? "He is one guy who changed my career, just by talking. I am very grateful to him. It's been very easy working with him."

Marvan, you were shown the door by SLC from your last stint as a coach. You conveniently menntioned as leaving for family reasons!! Really? I admit you were good as a Batsman no doubt. But I am afraid you can't coach. You single handedly destroyed players with promise of their progress. If you were still at the helm in Srilanka, we know player like Chandimal would be playing club cricket.

You people management skills was due to the well known fact that you are untouchable and no one can do anything. Because you had Nisantha.

I hope you learn something from Dav Whatmore. Moreover try to come to terms that you are just less than ordinary coach and need to learn a lot more before you call yourself a career coach. Good luck. Because you need it.

I just watched Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan. I feel Afghans are playing better cricket. But the way Zimbabwe batted just reminded when Marvan was incharge. Insipid and surrendered meekly. I know he was there for a short term but same old story. Marvan have long way to go.
