Faf powers South Africa to record total

Faf du Plessis struck a career-best 185 – his second century of the series – to power South Africa to the highest ever total at Newlands. It was the also the first time the Proteas have scored back-to-back totals in excess of 300-plus in Cape Town.

Very good match, unfortunately it was another loss for sri lanka. Tharanga played a fantastic innings along with Dickwella. Kusal Mendis had a good start aswell. Weerakody had quite a dodgy half century but he still managed to bat with a good strike rate. Big dissapointment was Dhananjaya de Silva. Its at those moments where you need a solid middle order batsmen to control the game. Gunaratne played well, i knew he was a good batsman and shouldnt be dropped. Pathirana was unlucky to be honest. Im surprised kumara never decided to even try and hit the ball during his over with Rabada. Definitely loss of this match was because of the bowling and batting from de Silva.

@Suren1998 I agree his batting was dodgy, but he certainly shouldn't be dropped. Keep him as a backup batsman, Dilshan praised him highly. But how the hell did his bowling cost us, he bowled three overs with an economy of 6 while Kula bowled 10 overs with an economy of 7.4 and don't take a wicket either.
