Sri Lanka fast bowling coach Champaka Ramanayake resigns - report

Great News!! Good riddance. This guy has been on the job too long for too little progress. I know Chamida has been appointed as the new bowling coach which itself is long time overdue. At least it's better late than never. We will see the improvement from now on.

During a Zimbabwe match Dean Jones pointed out that, at the point of delivery, Chameera's right leg moves sideways instead of straight. When I saw it, I was wondering why the bowling coach or anyone else did not notice it. Jones also mentioned that the side way movement creates extra stress on Chameera's body. I think Jones has a valid point.

Is Jone's comment a reason for Ramanayaka to resign?

If it is, then Dean Jones has done some good for Sri Lankan cricket.
We know that Ramanayaka introduced Malinga. That is excellent and we should thank Ramanayaka for that. But, it is all in the past. Riding on the past glory is not the way to go.

I think Vaas will do a better job.
