Has IPL ruined international cricket with flirty lucre?

In the mid-18th century, poet Thomas Gray (1716 - 1761), penned the immortal "Elegy written in a country churchyard" possibly inspired due to the death of his friend and fellow-poet, Richard West, who had passed away a few years earlier.

I think we can go past the "has IPL ruined cricket" to "where is cricket heading". The IPL is only a vehicle and probably one of many. It's what happens to the professional game and the best example is soccer. When last did you see or bother to check Messi playing for Argentina? Shouldn't he play for Spain? The real point is it doesn't really matter. Day in day out Messi turns out for Barcelona which is what everyone follows till the world cup and cricket is heading that way. No point blaming the IPL but accept the inevitable and wonder why are there no SL's in the IPL? This should be the question to ponder. How come Afganistan have two spinners in the IPL and even NZ can get a spinner in and we have one - just ONE player in the most lucrative event in the world. Time to stop blaming others and concentrate on being included.
