Basically, this article discusses what I mentioned in my comment for the poll "Is Graeme Labrooy doing a good job as chairman of selectors?".

Here is my comment:

@delan82: You are right to wonder how Labrooy is doing 2 jobs at once. This is how it is possible. I believe that Labrooy actually does ONLY ONE JOB, the Match Referee. And the Chief Selector is, only on paper. I think the big wigs of SLC, led by Sumathipala, selected the teams for matches and Labrooy and the other 2 selectors was only a "front". Having a henchman as the chief selector enabled Sumathipala and the gang to include certain players- guess who those players are- in order to manipulate the "BETTING" on matches.

Just a thought!

End of my comment.

Now, look at the sentence in the article

"Not only this, after that, Sri Lanka Chief selector Graeme Labrooy got a call regarding the selection, and only after that there was a selection meeting at SLC yesterday morning.'

It seems that Sumathipala makes sure that few players of his choice are included in the teams. I am sure you all are intelligent enough to figure out why this is so. Match Fixing and Betting?

Folks, Sumathipala is alive and well in SLC.

I do not blame Sumathipala. He is very smart. I blame the system which allows people to manipulate it.
The system should be modified and HONEST and CRICKET-LOVING people should be put in charge. Until then, SL Cricket will be a "business" for a few and a "well directed drama" for the fans.
