'He is one of the best bowlers' – Mathews backs Malinga

Lasith Malinga has played more than 200 Twenty20 matches, but until a week ago, he had never conceded more than 50 runs in a T20 game. But in the two most recent matches that Mumbai Indians have played in the Indian Premier League 2017, Malinga has had figures of 1 for 51 and none for 58.

I am afraid the two SL's on show in the IPL have been nothing short of woeful to date. Malinga WAS an awesome bowler and may still come back but right now he is in real danger of being dropped! He is missing his mark way too often and getting taken for boundaries. The lethal Yorker is rare and little pace or swing. Obviously needs time after injury but unless he get form soon he will struggle to find a spot.

If this is actually possible, I would say Anji has been worse. He has got hammered with the ball and he must really consider not bowling in order to stay on the park, and his batting has been no where. Again coming back from injury but I am merely stating facts and unless he finds, he too will be on the bench.
