really good selection by sana & co , good to see that they giving a chance to the highest wickets taker youngster Tharindu Kaushal, i would have loved to see tharanga in the place of Kithruwan as well, but this is ok , if this squad can't deliver wins then it's not the selection committee's fault.

Wudn't mind seeing Thisara Perara as T20 deputy! May be as T20 captain as well, but got to appreciate the changes made already too!

@ UC_7 - Remember you kept saying that we have many 30+ aged players? Sanath has answered it and has done a good job here, now it's upto the new team to keep the faith Sanath has shown on them.

yeh, but need to give them some time to gel as a team tho. 20 in the squad, hopefully they get rotated during the 2-match series.

PJ is still injured? If he is, will he make a comeback next series?

Yes, should give this squad a long-run while the seniors are around.

Think PJ is dropped, he is the best keeper we got but didn't impress with the bat except in England. don't see PJ making a comeback..

Confused's picture

It probably was on the cards, but I feel very sad for PJ. One of the finest keepers that I've ever seen and his batting technique against the poms in the ball swinging months of May and early June was a revelation. It was like he was batting on a different surface to the rest of our struggling stars, so comfortable was he against the moving ball.

For a man of such talent, he probably didn't do himself justice with the bat and was seemingly always under pressure as a result. Now, with emerging batting stars such as Chandimal and Kaushal, who have shown themselves to be adept behind the sticks too, I guess it should not come as a surprise to see PJ gone. Still, while sad for the past, I'm excited for the future too.
