To be honest Kusal Mendis is a talented player but i feel SLC rushed him into the side and are now facing the consequences. I think its better to bring in players who are experienced rather than young. Look at Ashan priyanjan, may not have shown that he is a t20 player yesterday but definitely shown he can be a capable odi player, but why was he never picked for ODI? We have very young players playing very crucial roles which is not right. Why can't someone like Mathews or Siriwardana bat at number 3? We keep calling Mathews the backbone of our batting but he can only do so much batting at number 5. Maybe in the future someone will realise this. Instead of bringing 22 year old Mendis and 19 year old Hasaranga, why can't we use Mathews, Siriwardana, Priyanjan etc for the next few years and when the time comes bring back a better 26 year old Mendis and 23 year old Hasaranga? Clearly this idea of bringing very young players is not working. It may have worked for other countries like India, but there domestic structure is so good that theie youngsters are better than our experienced players. Because of this, we should try to give chances to those in the A team, who have better knowledge of playing against tougher opponents. Some of the players in the A team may have already been tried out and kicked after 2 games, but surely they are the most capable players we have after our national team? Or at least they should be
