Our fast bowlers are fat and unfit – Chaminda Vaas

"There are certain players who don’t allow coaches to do their job. They manipulate things and take up matters with higher authorities. If you insist on things like fitness and hard work you will end up losing your job," Vaas added.

Very true, the likes of Malinga and Thisara are a disgrace, calling them professional sportsmen is a joke.

Vaas is probably referring to the Thisara Perera incident, whatever said about Mahela/Sanga the disease of involving higher authorities(politicians) in cricketing decisions was started by these two.

Seems like that some of our fast bowlers are fond of FAST FOOD.

Malinga should pay the price for Malinga axing...

Malinga should ONLY play T20. That is his game. He can manage 4 overs but not 10. Captaincy is an added incentive for him to give 100%. He is a proactive captain. SL will win both T20s.

Players like Malinga, Tisara should be ashamed. They had every opportunity to show their steel representing their mother land. Malinga seems and always gave his all when he played for IPL. He does not appear to care about Sri Lanka. Tisara has had more lives than a cat. It is a crying shame that such a talent does not seem to want to get fit and stay fit. What has happened to him as a player? It is all down to his lack of regard to stick to fitness regimes.

Time we drop Malinga and Tisara. We watched the Festival of Cricket it UK. Players from all colleges and schools representing Sri Lankan schools. We can pick five players who will do Sri Lankan team proud from them. Why are the selectors failing to take note of talent.

Contact the cricket committee in UK FOC and they will give you the names.

God Help our country to back to where we were a couple of years ago.

If Malinga, or any other player is unable, or unwilling, to meet the fitness standards required for the team, they should be dropped until they respond. In any format of the game it rarely turns out to be a positive by including unfit players. Malinga has been a very incisive and important bowler for Sri Lanka. However, at the moment he is clearly below the fitness levels required of an international cricketer. His fielding is abysmal, and his bowling has lost it's zip. He has got to shape up, or ship out. Relying on past glories is not going to get the team anywhere. He probably has two years at the top if he maintains an acceptable level of fitness. Otherwise, he will descend to being a has been very quickly. Let us hope he "shapes up", in more ways than one!

Yes. Especially Malinga. Look at his stomach.

If Malinga will see all these comments he might say, "Thamusela yanawa yanna oi thamnage wadak balagena" and will get in his car and go for a massage by a young Asian girl.
