This could be a great one day tournament with all districts participating but the way it is run is a joke. The matches are played in Colombo or its suburb.

Where as SLC could have taken these games to the respective districts and played the matches. Using 25 different venues would have given diff pitch experience and diff climate exposure.
Instead playing in dry and flat Colombo wickets Kusal Perera scores 2 centuries. Instead if he has done it in Jaffna Radella or Nuwaraliya it would have been far better.

All Jaffna Vavuniya Batticola Trinco etc have teams but how many are from these districts. By picking players from these districts the side might be weak but in couple of years like Bangladesh or once Sri Lanka they will surprise their opponents. Atleast 6 players could have been from these sides. What is the use of Naming the team as Jaffna district playing the match in Colombo and Tharanga Paranavithana or Kithruvan winning it due to their batting??

This was a great opportunity to take the game to all districts, use different venues and get used to weather, give opportunity to local boys that would have brought spectator interest and helped to find talent..

Wake up SLC.. this tournament is a joke..

Do what is right for everyone and not looking at convenience..

Did you not see through this nonsense? This is a 'District tournament' only in name. A District name has been given to each of the clubs, just to overcome a court ruling that the same format club tournament couldn't be played, due to an injunction sought by Negombo CC. Devious clowns.
