Interesting story on DS but under this guy SLC made some of the wors mistakes - building stadiums meaningless stadiums where no local cricket is played and chasing away Hatu, a home grown coach who had served under several international coaches.

He was the Best leggy going around in 80's. But never lived up to that in International arena. But have scored some wonderful knocks with the bat. One was against England pre test where Sri Lanka came within a whisker of beating England under Keith Flechers captaincy. Where late Anura Ranasighe played a blinder of an Innings. At this match Mahesh Gunatilake was simply brilliant behind the stumps and Roy Dias got out hit wicket when his helmet fell on the stumps.
All said DS and his nephews ran a mock swindling money when DS was involved in SLC.

He may be a good cricketer but he has lot to answer for the current predicament of SLC. Unfortunately this has made his reputation soiled.
