Sri Lanka cricket team set foot on Bangladesh on January 24 and after 73 days of continuous cricket, the proud Lankan unit finally returned home yesterday to their family and loved ones with their heads held high after winning every trophy that has come their way during their long stay.

It was the perfect storm in Bangladesh for SL this summer! They were simply untouchabel and when challenged they came out all guns blazing. There were two t20's against the home team that SL pulled out of the fire in the last over and by the time the knock out phase of the t20 WC came, no one could bat against them . It was simply an awesone display by a great team.

Cannot agree more with Stormy!! This was one of the greatest periods of our cricket! Asian champs and world cup holders within a span of 2 months!!

When we needed to get to the last ball to beat Bangladesh in the T20's and almost lost the first ODI in the tour, I had my doubts about the world cup. But something happened somewhere along the way and this group of players, support staff, coaches and even the tour selectors started to think like geniuses and their planning was masterful and the execution was simply brilliant!

There is something special about this world cup. 96 was like first love. Perhaps this is a more meaningful sentiment? perhaps we have been battered, bruised and almost buried by all of the final losses and by all of the corruption and mess we see within SLC to the point where we had lost all hope? Either way, this is one of the greatest moments in our cricket!

@MTC, RE:something happened after the 1st ODI vs Bangla.. THAT 1st ODI WAS the something that happened..... Coming back to win from 80-8 absolutely fired them up and make them believe again that they can comeback from ANY position...
