Not sure i agree with the notion that SLC made a mistake but preparing spinning tracks when it should have been seaming tracks. The point is India have both options well covered and our only hope was to compete on spin. The only problem was the tracks didn't spin enough which meant the team winning the toss had the advantage of racking up a good score. What we should have done is prepare rank tuners looking for a low scoring spin dominated series. Again asleep at the wheel was SLC but the blunt reality is there is no way this SL team was going to beat this Indian team on any wicket!
