Hilal has highlighted this in an article as well. Sri Lanka have always been inconsistent in their selection policys. The we hire a bunch of selectors they are all
with full time jobs all thought they are paid some amounts of money they dont even go to half the domestic games so they pick players more on hunch than
performance.

As you mentioned two players Chamara Silva and Chamara Kapugedera dont make the A Team. Kapugedera is young has time on his hand and will mature
and yes your right he has to be given chances up the order with his talent 6 and 7 is not where we can get the best out of him. his a naturally aggressive
player. Chamara Silva i think has lost his touch his been in and out of side for long. If i was the selectors i would blood in the youngsters Thirimanne, bhanuka
rajapakse (who is on the A tour to England). Lahiru Thirimanne is not in the one day side should have been there instead of taking an ageing Sanath. Where
sanath should have been used is the WC where the conditions he would have been an ideal bet would have balanced the side with bowling if he was picked
for one of those 3 middle order slots.

Thilina Kandamby deserves his place in the side. May be VC was arguable but he definitely deserved to be in the side he did not harm in 2009 had a good year
with the team scoring 650 plus runs in the year he was only 3rd to dilshan and sanga and mind u the two of them batted in the top 3 with sanga opening a few games in 2009. see figures below

TM Dilshan 19 19 1 1000 160 55.55 969 103.19 4 2 1 130 8
KC Sangakkara 27 27 1 919 90 35.34 1144 80.33 0 8 1 81 7
SHT Kandamby 21 21 5 686 93* 42.87 887 77.33 0 5 0 62 0

With figures like this they went and got Thilan Samaraweera in to the side and in 2010 kandambi got one more go in the Asia Cup game where he scored 30 odd and took 2 wickets. with the figures above he was obvious selection but was left out and should have been one of those 3 middle order bats at World Cup.

Jehan Mendis is a good addition to side as he is an allrounder . The one day team in england we have an issue as Mathews will have to come in as a batsman
which means we may have to go to 6-5 team instead of 7-4 structure. He bowls leg spin.

Ajantha Mendis shouldnt be in this side. they should have let him go back to somerset. he needs help. his not the bowler who he was. the primary reason for
that is that he is become an off spinning bowler rather than the leg break bowler he was.

Other than for the first one dayer which dilshan wont play and sanath will this should be what the team would be like

1) Dilshan
2) Chandimal
3) Sanga
4) Mahela
5) Kandamby
6) Mathews
7) Jeevan Mendis
8) Thissara Perera
9) Suraj Randiv
10)Nuwan Kulasekera
11) Lasith Malinga

this option will give us the 3 seamers and 2 spinners along with dilshan to support.
